To cancel an existing Schengen visa issued by Germany, you should write a petition indicating the reason for cancellation. You should personally deliver your petition and passport to iDATA offices to be submitted to the Consulate.

2. Are the visas issued by iDATA?

No. Only the Consulate/Embassy Visa Department has the power of decision about the visa application.

3. I will be traveling to Germany/Italy. Can I make a visa application at the representation of another Schengen country?

In general, the Schengen Visa grants its holder the right to travel within the Schengen zone. If you are planning to travel to other Schengen countries, you should apply to the representation of the country where you will be staying the longest to obtain a visa.

4. In which cases should I get transit visa?

You should get a Transit visa for all trips where you travel to countries other than Schengen countries with a connecting flight in Germany. We recommend you to make your visa application upon confirming the reservation your preferred airline.

5. I will have a transfer in a Schengen countries before arriving at my final destination; what kind of visa should I get?

You need to get a Schengen visa.

6. How long does it take for the Consulate to process my Schengen visa application?

The decision is made within 15 days following the delivery of the complete set of application documents to the Consulate's visa department via iDATA.
Processing times and application decisions are at the discretion of the Embassy/Consulates only. Especially before Turkish and German public holidays, the processing times may extend due to the load of the Consulate's visa department. On the date of application, your passport should be valid for at least 1 more year. It should have at least one page with two blank sides or two blank pages side by side.

8. What is the earliest time to apply for a National Visa?

The applications should be made as early as possible. The finalization of national visa procedures may take several weeks.
